Best book ever
NAAH 2 - definitely worth the wait!I think the NAAH is one of the best values out there - it has most of the information that's in reference volumes that cost $50 and up, and it's definitely much easier to take to the airport!
Extremely thorough review of airlines of all sizes

A model for "countercultural" Christian leadership.Robert Chapman provides an extraordinary example of godly Christian leadership -- something desperately needed today. Although very few are familiar with this 19th century British pastor, teacher, and evangelist, few will not be inspired by him. This account of his life and ministry may in fact be one of the most spiritually challenging books you may ever read!
The book sets forth the qualities of true -- agape, loving -- Christian leadership:
--Love for God's Word
-- Spirit-controlled character
-- Being patient and gentle
-- Maintaining unity
-- Disciplining and reconciling
-- Practicing hospitality
-- Giving to the needy
-- Continuing consequences
and more. Some excerpts:
To reform the church of God we should always begin with self-reform. Schisms and divisions will increase so long as we begin with reforming others. Wisdom is only with the lowly.
Humility is the secret of fellowship, and pride the secret of division.
The ruin of a kingdom is a little thing in God's sight, in comparison with division among a handful of sinners redeemed by the blood of Christ.
The best testimony that Stephen bore was his last: not when preaching and working miracles, but when he pleaded for his persecutors; for then he most resembled the Lord Jesus in patience, forgiveness and love.
(To a young missionary, heading for the field:) Keep low, look up, and press forward.
The Bottom Line: This book offers a much needed corrective to the kind of corporate (= worldly) leadership styles that dominate most church fellowships today. In that, it ranks with Schaeffer's Mark of the Christian. We highly recommend it be distributed widely, that we might see a generation of Christian leaders arise who are marked by their love, wisdom, and compassion.
This is a must read.

Three Young Pilgrims is the best Thanksgiving book for young
Wonderful book, especially for those with Mayflower kin!

An introduction to Thanksgiving for the very youngIt is obvious that the illustrator put a lot of careful attention into researching for historical accuracy. This is a teaching technique that is particularly effective for an age group in which a picture is truly worth a thousand words. Although hardships and struggles are hinted at in both rhyme and painting, the real focus is on the positive relationship between the two peoples as the Indians helped the Pilgrims adapt to their new home.
The only caveat -- for christians and anyone who is a monotheist -- is that this book nowhere mentions God, who is after all the reason for this holiday. It is a significant historical fact that the Pilgrims fled England due to religious persecution, and that this first Thanksgiving Feast was in Giving Thanks to God for His blessings and bounty. Later, Abraham Lincoln officially pronounced Thanksgiving as the last Thursday in November and reaffirmed that it was a holiday specifically set aside to revere God. So, the author's careful avoidance of this fact is a disappointment to me.
But if you are more on the politically correct side, you will find this book to be a perfect introduction to Thanksgiving for your children.
Lovely!
Strong text, rich illustrations

A vey good summary of the best muscle from Chrysler and co..However, a worthwhile addition to any collection as it brings the best of all three manufacturers together unto one book and blends Mr Youngs particular style of writing which is clear and informative.
Only lacking in comparison reports and multicar tests..

Well rounded book good for beginners
good book but sligtly lacking in detail
good

Generally Decent, lacking on 87-89 infoBuy this book if you do any repairs on your own, for the simple reason that, even though it leaves a little to be desired for the late '80s models, it's the only good book out there.

Good for working on my duster!

Good, but whitewashes history a bit.
Good early-reader history book!I'm not keen on politically correct mush, and this book is not politically correct mush. While it is somewhat vague regarding the hardships of the Pilgrims and their relations with the American Indians, I don't fault it for that; books for young children (mine are 4 and 5) needn't go into such detail as the distrust between the settlers and the Indians, etc. -- that's for later learning.
Overall, this is a great book and I already have recommended it to many people!
A good addition to your child's historical library
